Chinese-Canadian Genealogy

Chinese-Canadian Genealogy is a project of the Vancouver Public Library, and has plenty to offer Canadians with Chinese roots.

Right off the bat you'll learn that the "first Canadian-born baby of Chinese origin, Won Alexander Cumyow, was born in Port Douglas, B.C. in 1861." That in itself is more than I ever knew about Chinese-Canadian genealogy. It only gets better from there, with tips on Chinese names, ongoing heritage projects, and sources unique to Chinese research. Much of the info provided will be relevant to Americans of Chinese descent as well, including an overview of genealogy in China.
