The Essex Antiquarian

The Essex Antiquarian was published from 1897 to 1909—a pet project of Sidney Perley, who was evidently (and understandably) obsessed with the genealogical history of Essex County, Massachusetts. Now volunteers at the county's GenWeb Project are scanning and transcribing the entire run of the Antiquarian and putting it online. So far, volumes 1 and 2 have been scanned, as have the indexes and tables of contents of the remaining volumes.

Maps and illustrations from the volumes have also been scanned—including a 1700 map of Salem showing the "Probable Site of Graves of 'Witches.'"
